He had already begun working on his website but was struggling to achieve the professional look and functionality he wanted. He reached out to me for help in creating a custom website that would not only showcase his work but also be easy for him to update regularly with new video projects.

The goal was to build a platform that could serve as a digital portfolio to present to potential clients and effectively direct traffic from LinkedIn.

Jan also needed a solution for streaming high-quality videos on his site without relying on platforms like YouTube, ensuring the site maintained his brand identity while still allowing him to easily upload new work.

We began with a series of calls to understand his business needs, the design direction he envisioned, and the ideal user journey for his site. For the design direction, Jan wanted something clean and modern—a sleek look that would resonate with the vibrant energy of his work.

In terms of user journey, the focus was on making his work the star of the site while ensuring that all the essential information a potential client might need was easily accessible. The design needed to balance showcasing his projects with providing a smooth, informative experience for visitors.

Also, the website was structured so that scrolling through it feels natural and easy to digest, with strategically placed buttons always within reach, allowing users to easily book a call with Jan through Calendly.

After these discussions, I created a set of style sheets to give us a sense of the website’s branding and overall feel. After a few tweaks based on Jan’s feedback, we settled on a design direction that he was thrilled with.

I designed a website that was modern and visually striking, putting Jan’s video work front and centre while ensuring the site was fast, responsive, and easy to manage.

Once Jan was 100% satisfied with the design, I began developing the site itself. To achieve the best possible results, I used a lightweight Jamstack framework paired with a flexible content management system, ensuring a seamless connection between the CMS and Mux Video. This setup made it effortless for Jan to update the site and upload new video content whenever needed.

The final product was the JM Visuals website, a platform that effectively showcases Jan’s expertise in video marketing.
