Vila Josephine

Simon, the owner of Vila Josephine, originally built the website himself—but it wasn’t doing justice to the place. Despite its rich history, stunning location, and lovingly restored interiors, the site didn’t capture the essence of the villa, and it made it difficult for potential guests to really connect with what was on offer.

Simon already had a solid foundation in place: a clear brand identity and excellent photos. With those strong ingredients, the challenge became more about how to present them in the right way.

My Approach

We began by restructuring the content and planning a user flow that would make the experience feel intuitive and inspiring from the first click. The goal was to make visitors feel what staying at Vila Josephine would be like - cozy, elegant, full of story.

• Designed a layout that brought together history, hospitality, and atmosphere in a cohesive visual story.
• Crafted individual accommodation pages to help each apartment stand out while keeping booking simple and accessible.
• Highlighted the villa’s legacy and cultural heritage to build emotional connection with visitors.
• Developed the site using Gatsby and a headless CMS, allowing Simon to easily update content without needing tech skills.

Results

The new website gives Vila Josephine the digital presence it deserves. It feels calm, refined, and personal—just like the experience of staying there. The storytelling is clearer, the booking flow smoother, and the whole experience more aligned with the high standard of care Simon puts into the villa itself.
